Starlink offers broadband internet service almost anywhere that has a clear view of the sky, making fast, reliable access available in remote areas that may never get access to traditional services like cable or fiber.
By using a satellite link and a specially designed, fairly portable dish to give users a wireless connection to the larger web, it allows speedy internet for things like streaming, gaming, and video calling.
Starlink introduced the newest standard version in January 2024: Dish V4 and Gen 3 Router, which boast better specs and better durability. In conjunction with upgraded satellites overhead, they also promise better performance. The standard dish is 23.4 inches tall and 15.07 inches wide, giving it nearly twice the surface area of the Mini. This Gen 3 Router is a tri-band 4 x 4 MU-MIMO 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax WiFi 6 router with two latching ethernet LAN ports and WPA2 security. It's compatible with up to three Starlink mesh nodes from Gen 2 and Gen 3. While the dish handles the interface between Starlink's satellites and the ground, this router will translate that signal into a high-speed connection for up to 235 devices.
The result is faster speeds, better coverage in your home, and even easier integration with existing network hardware, whether it's a mesh network or a wired connection for a printer or network-attached storage (NAS) device.
The Starlink Standard dish kit includes a Gen 3 Router which is a tri-band 4 x 4 MU-MIMO 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax WiFi 6 router with two latching ethernet LAN ports and WPA2 security for up to 235 devices. It is designed for stationary use and can operate in various weather conditions, making it suitable for residential and business applications.
